Senior Account Executive – Artisan Contractors
WestCongress Insurance Services LLC is a Surplus Lines insurance producer with authority to bind commercial general and excess liability insurance policies on behalf of our affiliate, Champlain Specialty Insurance Company (AM Best A- VII). We are in need of an Account Executive for our Artisan Contractors business segment.
The Senior Account Executive is responsible for building relationships with wholesale producers of Contractors casualty business to generate submission flow; for the evaluation, underwriting, quoting, and binding of new and renewal Contractors’ submissions; and for building, developing and managing a significant book of business within the Contractors Program. The successful candidate will have a minimum of seven to ten (7-10) years’ experience with a carrier, MGA or other insurance producer underwriting general liability accounts in the construction industry. Established relationships in the wholesale broker community and a willingness to devote time and energy to growing external relationships while managing a high volume of submission flow is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Engage in primary and referral level account evaluation, application of terms, pricing, risk selection and documentation
- Provide a superior customer experience
- Execute underwriting guidelines and ensure compliance with insurer policies, processes, and risk appetite
- Point person for third party wholesale of Contractors business to build sustainable long-term profitable relationships
- Demonstrate the ability to drive product, service, selection, pricing and innovation for the Contractors segment
Qualifications
The individual in this position must have strong inter-personal communication skills and organizational skills. In addition, the individual must demonstrate the following skills:
- Knowledge of standardized workflows, roles and responsibilities, and compliance requirements
- Knowledge of insurance coverages and general market conditions
- Knowledge of combined coverage forms including Commercial General Liability forms
- Knowledge of primary and/or excess general liability risk evaluation
- Ability to organize work and perform within time constraints
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated management skills, flexibility to meet changing demands and strong decision-making ability
- High proficiency in math, typing, Microsoft Word & Excel and other computer software & systems
- Negotiation skills
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university
- Ability and willingness to travel
